Carrot Cidera (Seedtape)

Latin name: Daucus carota L.

Carrot Cidera is a late variety of carrot that produces large, delicious, and vibrant orange roots. Perfect for juicing, canning, fresh consumption, and storing over winter, these carrots are not prone to cracking and can grow up to 21–23 cm long.

For the best growth, sow the seeds in well-cultivated, hummus-rich, light loam or sandy soil. It's important to note that carrots should be sown again in the same place no sooner than after 4-5 years. The seed tape method offers several advantages:

• Larger and better quality harvests.
• Seeds germinate quickly and evenly with adequate moisture.
• Easy to lay down; simply water the soil before placing the tape and cover it with soil.

A 4-meter long tape can yield about 350 high-quality root crops, which translates to a harvest of 30–40 kg. This makes it an excellent choice for both novice and experienced gardeners looking to maximize their yield.
